I watched a cooking show on PBS where that one french chef who cooks w/ Julia Child visited a trout farm to explore "American caviar." Well, they kill the fish and break open the egg sacks, add salt and sugar, and can the bright orange fish eggs.
Well, right after that we went fishing and caught some female trout. While cleaning the fish, I harvested the egg sacks and fed it to the crabs (no salt or sugar, of course). Looks to be half-gone this morning. They are eating gourmet now! My betta also had some and is feeling perky this morning.
