Just a question regarding pond water depths. My fresh water and salt water ponds are wide but shallow (approx 10mm) and my crabs are the size of a very small walnut or a little bigger than a very large grape. Is this deep enough for them to be able to flush out their shells etc? After researching it I'm not keen on giving them baths myself due to the stress it may cause
Cheers in advance!

Re: Pond water level question
Personally, they too shallow!
Currently I have a crab around your size that regularly takes a dip into my SW pool which is around 15cm deep and really enjoys it. Ok, you don't have to have massively deep pools like me, but a good water depth of 5cm should keep them happy for a long time.

I've never had any problems with 'Impulse Buying'. They're just animals that I forgot I had planned to get.

Re: Pond water level question
Agree with Aussie. My pool is the same depth as the substrate.

Re: Pond water level question
Please make sure they have a safe way to get out of the ponds too. Our ponds are deep too and our hermies love to scoot through them. One can also use something other than the over priced pet store ponds that they sell.
