Is filtered water (Brita) ok?

The brita filters remove chlorine and heavy metals etc from tap water so I assume it would be fine. Ladybug suggested Wai may know more about this?? What are peoples thoughts

Are you from VIC? The tap water here isn't actually that aggressively treated, so I was thinking a simple API dechlorinator would suffice. I've been using untreated bottled spring water for a few years now without any problems. I don't know much about the brita filters.

Yeah Im in Vic. I think the brita filter should be fine as it does remove chlorine etc. I should probably contact brita to find out if all the chlorine is removed or just a percentage but im assuming it all would be. Thanks Wai

Otherwise you could just use bottled or distilled water. You don't have to worry about chlorine and other potentially nasty stuff since it wasn't added in the first place. However, there is still the really rare chance that things went wrong somewhere, so it's not 100% safe all the time either.

Use a dechlorinator, we have one too and it is not safe for hermies without it.

Please make sure it is the API tap water conditioner without stresscoat or such:

it will say it right on the bottle, they do make a few different kinds
