Accidently moved moulting hermit crab...
I was moving some stuff around in my tank and picked up one of my hermit crabs and he was just flopping around and hanging out of the shell..I had one die so I kind of panicked for a second and moved the shell a bit. What I thought was my hermit crab kind of started falling out of the shell and I saw the actual crab inside moving around a bit. I feel really bad now because I moved him. He wasn't really underground just in a dip in the ground that he dug I guess. I put him back the way he was and am working on keeping the other one away from him, though they have been huddled together in their little cave for the past week or so without moving (the other one isn't moulting). Will the one I moved be ok?? =(

I would strongly suggest to iso him from the others. If you have an iso tank, take some of the substrate from where he is and sprinkle it in the iso in a location like the one he was in the main tank. (same temp and humidity) Place a hut over him and water outside the door.
If you do not have an iso, use a cut 2 liter soda bottle and try to make it shadowed in that are so your shadow does not stress him. You can use the lids from soda bottles for a fresh and ocean water source. If you do not have a soda bottle, you can use the glass off of a picture frame. Regardless of what in the tank iso is used, make sure it is pushed all the way to the glass bottom and items are removed that the others can climb and gain access to him by.
Edited to ask: I do not see what size tank you have? If it is large enough you could use a cleaned margarine bowl, or tupperware type container as an iso.

Re: Accidently moved moulting hermit crab...
I'm in university so I don't really have many options for them. I bought them at a kiosk at a mall over the summer. What I have them in isn't really even a tank and I have no idea what size to even call it because it's very small and has just enough room for all their stuff and probably no more than the two crabs I have. I have everything they need in there and I've had them since the beginning of July and they're still alive and healthy so I assume they're fine with where I have them (I also take them out a fair bit so they can get more exercise climbing around in a bigger area). I have a small ceramic cave, which is where he partially buried himself, so I took the other one out and blocked off the entrance with the piece of coral I have until I find something better. He was rather accepting of the fact that he wasn't allowed back inside and went to sleep in a different spot under their tiny log. I just really hope I didn't kill my moulting crab. =( For now I'm doing my best to isolate him and keep the conditions of the "tank" within the proper temperature and humidity level.

Do keep them separated. You can never know when moulters get gobbled up.
