I recently won an auction on Ebay for various hermit crab supplies. The person I purchased them from decided to throw some other items in she thought I may want.
One of the items is an "All Natural Tarantula Sponge" by Zoo Med. There is no further description as to what it is. It appears to be just a sea sponge, but... I just want to know if anybody has any imput before I go putting it in with my precious hermies.
(I was quite happy with my auction... I got SO MUCH for so little )

I think that is probably just a regular sea sponge and would be fine for your hermit crabs. I read somewhere that some people use sea sponges to help their tarantulas drink just like they do with hermit crabs although I confess to being not very familiar with tarantula care. Hopefully someone else on this forum can tell you for sure.

Thanks! Like I said, I just wanted to be sure... I didn't know if it had some kind of "tarantula germs" on it.
My brother had a Tarantula when I was little. I took it's exo skeleton in for show and tell and scared the pants of my teacher! She was like "Put it away" thinking it was the real deal...

Is it a whitish in coloring like the one here:

http://www.everythingforpets.com/zoo_me ... dept.1147/
The lighter ones as in the pictures above have been cleaned with some form of chemical or bleach.
Ones true natural sea sponges are brown in coloring.

The links you posted have the identical packaging, but the sponge isn't whitish. It's more yellow. I will chuck it just incase.
