Urg!

I have a girl at my church who is into hermit crabs and she told me of a hermit crab shop in one of the malls here. I need to go check it out. She is also going to Florida and gonna get some hermies. I told her if she finds a few extra she knows where she can bring them. She said ok.

lemi has really pale colors. wendy is a darker purple/red. and bebe is a dull orange.
is she just going to FL for the crabs or is she spending awhile? that's awesome though! are all your crabs the same size or are they different? are they different species too?

I have from micro up to about golf ball sizes. I am not sure of the species for sure. I think most are pp's but might be others too. She is going for vacation. She is really going to be on the look out for strawberries.

I strongly do not recommend starting with strawberries. They are known to be one of the most difficult to care for (especially the large mess that most of them make). Purple Pinchers are generally easier to look after than the others, so you should tell her to start of with them first before attempting the strawberries.

She is going to add more she and her mother have been keeping hermies for 15 or 20 years now. Her mom is really into them too. We both have several hermies already.

why are strawberrys harder to care for? are there certain crabs that are easier / harder to take care of? how do you learn to take care of them? experience?

i always thought that strawberrys were pretty colors. i love that bright/deep reds that they come in.
