My baby is dead! :*(

I was holding and checking out my hermit crabs and I went to put back my smallest hermit, Dave, and went to get my biggest hermit, Elvis, and he's dead!

My dad was poking him and he just wouldn't come out of his shell or even move a claw. I tried blowing on him and spirtzing him to see if he'd move and he just wouldn't. I could've sworn he moved from one side of the cage to the other this morning!

A couple days ago, the temp. dropped to below 70 degrees, during the night. Maybe he's hibernating? I don't know; my other 2 hermits are moving around fine.

UPDATE: I just went back in there to change clothes and noticed that he was sitting on the side of the cage; I originally set him in the middle. When I went to pick him up, he coiled back into his shell and wouldn't move or come out again. Is he just totally shy?! Grrrr!

Huh that is strange. Maybe he was just to cold. He might be getting ready to moult? I do not know.

I'm sure he's fine, just don't bother him too much. Have you been feeding them a bit of everything including meat? Nutrition has a big effect on a hermit crab's behaviour.
