Night at the Crab Tank

Post by emmac350 »

So...I'm at my parents' house right now...and my dad had a time lapse camera. This is our first attempt at figuring out what exactly my crabs do at night! Pictures were taken every minute, and it's great...they actually broke one of the upper levels that night! Anyways, my hubby uploaded it to youtube, and I love it. We'll be doing another one with better lighting tonight, so I'll post that one when it's ready!

Okay, the sequel is up! The Secret Lives of Hermit Crabs is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rtbDyiiARY. This one was taken with a shorter interval between pictures and better lighting so as to be able to see the action much better.

Glad you like it! The husband, father, and I really had fun making it. It's hard to see, but in the second video, a bay scallop (in the top right corner) went completely missing. It's not in the coconut fiber around the food bowl up there, either. In other news...the crabs are living with my sister now, which makes me sad. :(
