I have been using toys r us playsand for one year with no issues.

glass tanks are expensive show i got my at a pet store t6hat was $1 a piece :)

Glass tanks are necessary, not "expensive." Well, they are expensive, but they are the only product that will not kill your crabs. What kind of a "tank" did your pet store sell you, hermit crab101? If it was that cheap, I'd wager it's probably a miniscule critter keeper or a wire cage, both of which are inadequate for providing for your crabs' needs.
