hi i am new to owning hermit crabs. can someone please help me out i got these 2 hermit crabs from someone who has had them since december and all they had for them was a little plastic cage. so we went out lastnight and got them a 10gallon glass tank with a screen cover and a heat lamp sand and coconut fiber bedding i was reading on the back of the bag and it says to put it at least 3 inches deep so i did after i mixed sand with the fiber. i woke up this morning to find the crabs gone so i searched threw the bedding and found them all they way on the bottom of the tank so i took them out and put them back on top. now they are gone again should i just leave them under? are they going to be ok. in the other tank they were in they never burried themselfs i just want to make sure they are going to be ok. thanks Jess :D

Jess - this really isn't the place for this discussion. The "Lounge" is for non-crab related discussions. Your discussion could belong in the Chirp and Chat forum. Also, the crab care section will answer most of the questions you've asked, so please read all of that information before posting anything else. The crab care section is http://www.hermitcrabparadise.com/crabcare/.

Welcome to the site, and if anything doesn't make sense after reading the crab care section, feel free to ask away in the appropriate forum (please read the descriptions under the names to know which one to post in).

When you do go to the crab care section, please make sure to read the ones that say 'new' in yellow for the others have not been updated.
