Re: Deep Cleaning Time!!!!!!!
After I drain the water off the sand, I always do a final rinse with API tap water conditioner then drain again. Normally I know when I am about to take on that 'task', so I already have my rinse gallon jugs already mixed a couple days in advanced. To lug distilled bottle water can be a back breaker and even though distilled bottle water isn't that expensive to use for their ponds and baths it can add up when it would come to rinsing off POUNDS of sand.

Re: Deep Cleaning Time!!!!!!!
Darn. I threw away my old gallon jugs, thinking I wouldn't need them for anything! Guess I'll start saving them for the water system. Months ago Marie, I think you mentioned or someone did that they put the dirt in pillowcases to help clean the sand. I'm having another senior moment. How does that work or am I just thinking I read it. Couldn't find the link. Thanks again. Lette

No, not a senior moment lette44. After draining as much water as I can out of the sand when it is in the bucket I do use a pillow case to let it drain even more.
