I think....

Post by Jaci »

Thanks to Mary Wanna's link, I think that I have clypeatus crabs. However, the website stated that the big claw is supposed to be a dark purple, my crabs' claws are not dark purple, they're not lavender or light purple, but more of a dull....regular?...purple. Is this natural? All four of my crabs have this color claw. If it's not natural, is there any way to help it get darker?

Well, not all hermit crabs are the same, so it is normal for them to have a lighter shade of colour. If you like, you can submit a photo of your hermit crab to the gallery (you'll need to register a gallery account), and we'll try identifying it for you.

Ok, I'll see if I can find a good picture of each of them. Thanks!
