BatteryAcid And Saltwater Does Not Mix!!!!!!

Post by Foxydiva3 »

LOL This morning I Looked into my Crabbitat and noticed the Saltwater pond was slimey looking and orange! I though maybe a crab got in and died but I Had just made this up the night before. Come to find out my thermometer was knock into the pond my one of my crabbies. I Had to throw out every thing to do with the pond. The shells And Pond were Orange And Even if I Cleaned them I Wouldn't feel safe about putting it in so I got to do A new one! So Don't hook your Thermometers over the ponds, Frisky Crabs Might dump them in!

My hermies have dumped their thermometer into the water pond more than once. But then I had to get a new one cause it totally messed up the calibration on it.

Just a warning, even if you don't put it over the pond they can still knock it down and drag it to the water dishes. So even if you don't put it by the dish it can still get into your water ponds.
Proud mommy of 2 beautiful daughters Kytana and Danica, 1 cat Princess and 1 dog Liebschen

Due to family issues my crabs have been adopted out to wizkidsmom (Cheryl), I know she will care for them like I did. Thanks Cheryl

You could try one of those glass mercury thermometers that float on water (designed for fish). I use those.
