I Have four straws in with my Ecuidorians and PPs.. 3 Straws Are in shells that are perfect for them and they can get all the way in and fully close up.. However my giant Straw Monster is way to big for his shell. he can not even close his eyes down or close up its like his whole body is outside except his tail part. When he runs around his whole shell is off the ground. He otherwise is very active and loves to climb gets along with others and they all seem to like to cuddle with him even though he is the biggest in the tank. So I know that Ees dont really like shell changing and hold on theirs forever, is this also true of Straws? He Has them available, Ive done the whole thing with putting salt water in them. but he seems not to want to change. Isnt this bad for a crab? I know Straws are hard to keep and mine have been doing so well so I Want to keep them happy and healthy!

This exactly is my case too! except I have no Straws or E's, Only PP'S. My largest Jumbo has a shell so many sizes smaller, but has still been sticking with it for a couple of months now, he has successefuly moulted with it and everything! no worries! It will change it if wants to, just need to provide the large variety of shells
!!! pictures of my medium pp (take a look and plz comment)

Re: Strawberry shell changing.
If your straw is comfortable in his settings and he doesn't feel threatened he may not want to change into another shell. He has no reason to hide in his shell if no one bothers him. He's probably comfortable in the one he has for now.

Re: Strawberry shell changing.
The extra shells you are offering, are they from the turbo shell family? My straws here prefer the lighter weight turbos and they are all in the striped turbo's now. They won't even attempt to try the heavier green turbo's on, they roll them a couple times, flip an antenna at them and go to the next shell.
