Chirping and molting?
Do hermits sometimes chrip when they molt ?

I think the chirping sounds are created by the hermit crab rubbing parts of its exoskeleton together. So, during the moult, the hermit crab may make sounds, but after the exoskeleton has been shed off by the hermit crab, I don't think it can chirp, since it is soft.

Interesting. This is my first molt and I have yet to hear them chirp. It did sound more like something rubbing against a surface like a squeek but I figured it was a chirp. Thanks for the info
