Are they safe? I'm talking about the typical cheap wooden ones you find at walmart.

I would say No to the wooden ones, after all, do you know if they treated or what type of wood it is made of??? a Big no, if you don't know what it is!

Wooden clothes pins should not be used. The wooden ones sold here in the U.S. are made of pine, as well as the 'clippy' ones also have metal to hold them together that will rust with the damp/humid conditions of our crabitats. They do sell plastic ones, but get the ones without the metal.
