Hi. I'm new here and I was looking around and saw this and decided to write something. I bought my first hermit crab at a beach shop, expecting it to live for only 2 weeks. My hermie passed away this past weekend, and I had Sebastian for about 8 months. I named him Sebastian cause at the time I got him, I had bright red hair like Ariel from the little mermaid. He was my little buddy. I loved him so much and got really upset when I saw he had passed. My family doesn't understand why I'm upset, but it's normal to be upset, right?

Definitely; I was devastated when one of my first two hermit crabs died. Unfortunately for some reason, a lot of people find it unusual to get emotionally attached to animals that aren't furry with four legs.
