Rest in peace Ricky,

Post by Hermitcrablove12 »

After owning Ricky for over 5 years, he passed away in August 2010. He died the same way as one of Wai's crabs Ceres. R.I.P Ricky. :(

Sorry to hear that. Did he just turn lavendar or some other weird shade, then fail to harden? I would really like to know more about that condition, although I don't know where exactly to start looking for information...

I'd be devastated too if I lost a hermit crab that I have had for that long. It does make me worry about the 12 I have now...

He turned light purpley pink and turned rubbery. I'm worried about mine too. I have never heard of anything like this before.

I am sorry to hear of your loss, it does hurt when one passes to Rainbow bridge.
Had you fed Ricky (or your other hermies) any raw shrimp, oysters or other type of shell fish?
