Surface molt?
My daughter got two hermit crabs two months ago. One of them was showing all the signs of getting ready to mold, such as increased food intake. He was buried under the sand for a couple of days when we came home last night to find him on the surface out of his shell. he is very pale and weak appearing. I am having a hard time figuring out if he’s already molted and what to do with him. We did leave him alone to see if he would re-shell and he did not. We also moved the other crab to an isolation tank to protect him. in my opinion, he looks far too weak to carry a shell at this point and my daughter is very concerned. Any suggestions are so appreciated!
