Niko,
Keep an eye on that eye after his next molt, and snap another picture. It's likely he lost that eye and is regenerating it over many molts.

I have heard of this, where a hermit lost an eye, and over a lot of molts it slowly regenerated. It's an amazing thing, that they can grow new eyes as well as limbs!

Neunoeuil left eye almost looks sore too? I bought a hermie years ago (10) and she was missing her left eye and I didn't notice it until I got her home. (didn't have a digital camera then) :(
But with Foxy Lady's first molt it looked like a 'spec' of a pupil, and with each molt it grew a little more: (after I got a camera I began to take pictures)

and this is Foxy a couple years ago. I took these for CrabWorks:

She has her beautiful eye lashes too! :D
CrabWorks, mom of Jon & Kate for 34 years this August had Kate loose her eye to a spat with Jon. She is also starting to regenerate her lost eye. :)

Hi Marie,

yes neunoeuil has certainly lossen this eye some years ago, i've already seen some similar cases on the web. I've bought him two years ago, and regeneration seems to be a very long process. Not surprising, probably because eyes are complex organs, so they can't be regenerated in one molt.

The eyes are indeed a complex organ, and I wonder or very curious as to whether there is a way to determine if they regain full sight within the eye as well. I believe Foxy Lady can see from her left eye, and CrabWorks believes Kate can see as well. Can you tell on Neunoeuil whether the regenerating eye is a 'full' as the other, or if it appears 'flatter' as in Foxy's?

Quite possibly, but whether it's enough to bother them, I wouldn't know.

My Nemo has one eye kinda smaller then the other.

The eye on( your) left is a bit slightly smaller then the other. Not much of a huge difference , but when you zoom in , you can see the asymmetry
