I am sorry to hear your little one has passed on.
Hermies can and do regenerate lost eyes. When I bought Foxy Lady she was missing her left eye completely. (didn't have a digital camera then) But with her first molt with me there was a 'spec' of an eye and with each molt it had gotten bigger. For a couple of years now if I didn't know which eye was missing I couldn't tell just by looking. Foxy Ladys pictures are the 2nd and 3rd row at this link:

CrabWorks Kate lost an eye due to a round with Jon a couple years ago. Kate has now begun to grow her eye back as well.

I didn't know they could regrow the eye itself. I know that the stalk remains, but didn't know that the eye itself regenerated lol. That's neat, wonder how many molts that takes.
