Post by Hermie's rule »

:D I've got a whole bunch of hermie shells for sale.

I have 2 natural turbo shells for sale. The .75 inch shell opening has tiny tiny breathing holes all through it. Some hermie might would want it. The 2nd shell has a 1" opening size with a MOP interior. Both shells are selling for $ 2 plus shipping OBO.

Those are some pretty shells with the D shaped holes. :)

Just fyi, no hermie would want the shell with "breathing" holes, they need them to hold water, so it wouldn't work. :)

I agree with CrabbyJo. And if offered a hermie might move into it if they were uncomfortable with their current shell. However as CJ mentioned it could not hold water so a crabber should not place this in the crabitat to be offered. Without being able to hold water the hermie may dehydrate.

As a general rule, any shell that is not suitable for hermit crabs to wear should not be placed in the tank in such a way that the hermit crabs can try it on. This includes painted shells and shells with holes near the abdomen area.
