she's definatally still a PP, i have pink, red, purple (i mean PURPLE all over) PP's, lol!

This might help. I forget where i got this but I wrote it down here it is: Purple pincher traits- Pale in color as small crabs, when small pincher is purple. Become deep maroon as large crabs pincher is same as body color.

There is probably some advantage to having a same species friend, but many of us have noticed that our crabs in mixed tanks tend to hang w/ crabs that are similar sizes regardless of their species. If I was a crab, skin color wouldn't mean much to me; I'd pick a friend my size that I could swap clothes with!

that is very true. i noticed that my littlest ones (bebe, lemi, ike, craig) have a prominant almost royal purple color big claw, while zeus's claw is completely purple his body is a deep orange. apollo is completely dark red/purple.
