My Hermit Crabs

Post by freyabecca »

Can you help me identify what species my crabbies are?

This is my biggest crab named Goliath

This is David. He has actually switched shells since I took this picture.

This is Peppermint.

I think David and Goliath are PP but I am not sure.

I think they're all PPs (fairly certain based off of their coloring, eyestalk and eye shape, and what I can see of their BPs), but I'd need clearer pictures of their BP and eyes to be 100% sure. As it stands, I'm between 90 and 95% sure that's what they are. You may want to look into getting them some rounder opening shells, especially for Peppermint. PPs tend to prefer shells with round openings and I've never actually seen a PP choose that shape of shell before. Turbos and Murexes are the most popular shells among my PPs, and even for the most part among my Es.

Thanks!

Emma, Thanks for the advice. Peppermint came to me in that shell. I have a large assortment of shells in their home. And David changed into a shell of the same shape except a little bit bigger.

Ladybug, Which ones look like they are going to molt?
