May I make a suggestion? It seems he is a very stressed hermie right now. (especially being post molt) Leave him be for now, only changing his waters for fresh daily. By peeking in on him could also be causing a little more stress to an already stressful situation. Try to have the warmer and cooler substrate temp, make sure tank perimeters are in check.... no more checking for a reaction.

Sorry for your loss, but I guess he was beyond help already and you tried what you could do. Red Sea Salt is quite easy to find. I haven't seen any Instant Ocean for sale in Australia before.
