Changing into a worse shell?

Post by emmac350 »

Okay, here's the deal. Benny was in a shell that was a bit too big for him...and he just switched into one that's even bigger! He looks smaller than I remember him (I've been leaving him alone as he's shy and I've had him for only about a month) and between that and his lighter color, I assume he's molted.

Should I be worried?

The biggest thing about keeping hermit crabs is the shells, you want them to change, you wanted them to stay, shell is to big, shell is to small....its really not a big deal.

1. If the crab can seal the opening of the shell with his big claw its a good fit.
2. make no holes avalible in the shells
3. he will change into what he wants to when he wants to.
