Question About Freeze Dried Food

Today I bought Fluker's Medley Treat for turtles (ingredients: freeze dried river shrimp, freeze dried mealworms, freeze dried crickets). Does freeze dried food need to be soaked in water before being fed to the crabs? I've read that you have to soak them in water for betta fish and wanted to know if the same thing applied to hermit crabs.

Different crabbers do different things with the freeze dried and dehydrated foods. I do nothing except grind them up then offer them to the hermies. I grind them so one does not drag off the 'hunk' of food and there is some for everybody. Seems it doesn't go moldy for me this way either, or become hard when it begins to dry. (as I have read happens) I also grind the food just in case.... as in if when the food (meal worms, krill, etc.) might of had mites that they do not come to life when they hit the nice warm crabitat. Not sure if anything like this could happen, I just do not take the chance.
But since bugboy did the post on CSJ, I have steered away from crickets.

I have another question... I assume that seaweed and bee pollen sold for human consumption would be safe for hermit crabs also. Is this correct?

Yes, but make sure the bee pollen is 100% natural, no additives.

since im in australia its safe to feed my crabs crickets right?
cause i breed them my for my lizards and i have hundreds to spare lol
