Lost limb and mites
My family member has been watching our hermit crabs while we are away for 6 week. She recently noticed that one of our crabs molted, and then yesterday she found the claw of our other crab, who has been underground for a few days. He is normally very active, crawling all around and even on the mesh wiring of the top of our tank. The same day, she also noticed bugs in the water. She first noticed them about a week ago and thought that they were larvae so she dumped out the water. Then she noticed them again yesterday and today. They are tiny white bugs clustered together in the water bowl. Are these dangerous / the reason our crab lost a limb? What should we do?
