My hermies love the moss. They will actually drag some of it to various corners of the tank and sleep in it. I try to keep it in one pile, but it doesn't always work out that way. lol

Mine like digging in it, and its always wet so it keeps the gills moist.

Please all do be careful as to what type of moss you use in the crabitat. Not all are hermie safe.
